- Replace the fan/battery module
Information about replacing the fan/battery module: (from D425, D435 optional, from D445, D445-1 and D4x5-2 always necessary) - D425, D435, D445: 6FC5348-0AA01-0AA0 (single fan)
- D445-1, D4x5-2: 6FC5348-0AA02-0AA0 (double fan)

- Reformat the CF card (if incorrectly formatted or formatting defective)
- for D410 / D4x5: FAT and FAT16
- for D410-2 / D4x5-2: FAT, FAT16 and FAT32
- Re-import bootloader onto card (also after formatting, we recommend this, to preclude a defective bootloader)
- Check the CF card using tools, e.g. MS-Windows CheckDisk
- Replace CF card
